L&T Chairman SN Subrahmanyan’s FY26 Pay Rises 59% to Rs. 120.84 Cr
L&T chairman SN Subrahmanyan received Rs. 120.84 Cr in FY26, marking a 59% rise in annual remuneration driven by commission payouts and ESOP gains.
Larsen & Toubro (L&T) chairman and managing director S.N Subrahmanyan received total remuneration of Rs. 120.84 Cr in FY2025-26, marking a 59% increase from the previous financial year and placing him among India’s highest-paid corporate executives.
According to media reports, the compensation package included salary, commission, retirement benefits, and gains linked to employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs). Commission payouts formed the largest component of the package.
Subrahmanyan’s remuneration stood at Rs. 76.24 crore in FY25. His latest pay package has now pushed him into the Rs. 100-crore executive compensation bracket.
The disclosure comes more than a year after the L&T chief sparked widespread debate with remarks supporting a 90-hour work week and Sunday working culture, comments that drew criticism across social media and corporate circles.
L&T had earlier defended the remarks, stating that the comments reflected the company’s broader vision around nation-building and collective effort.
The engineering and infrastructure major has meanwhile been expanding its focus beyond traditional EPC projects into sectors including green hydrogen, semiconductors, industrial electronics, and data centres under its long-term “Lakshy 31” strategy.
