The BRICS CCI has appointed Sharmishtha Ghosh as Executive Director, International Partnerships and Outreach.

The BRICS Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BRICS CCI) has appointed Sharmishtha Ghosh as Executive Director, International Partnerships and Outreach, as the grouping expands to 11 member nations and India prepares to assume the BRICS chairship in 2026.

In the new role, Ghosh will lead the Chamber’s efforts to strengthen cross-border trade corridors, bilateral investment and institutional partnerships across BRICS economies. She will also oversee initiatives aimed at helping businesses in member countries expand into new markets through greater collaboration and investment.

The appointment comes at a time when the BRICS bloc is widening its economic footprint, with a greater focus on trade, investment and South-South cooperation among emerging economies.

Ghosh brings more than two decades of experience in strategic advisory, public policy and international business expansion. She is the founder and managing director of In Tandem Global Consulting, a strategy advisory firm with operations in India and the UAE, where she has advised companies on market entry, foreign investment and cross-border partnerships.

Over the years, she has also worked with government bodies, multinational corporations and industry associations on trade promotion, market expansion and economic collaboration across India, Europe and the MENA region.

“My focus will be on building practical trade corridors, encouraging cross-border investment and setting up institutional channels that help businesses across member economies enter one another’s markets,” Ghosh said. She added that the work came as trade and investment shifted towards South-South cooperation.

Commenting on the appointment, Sameep Shastri, Chairman, BRICS CCI, said the Chamber was preparing for an expanded role as the grouping grows. “The Chamber is preparing for its place in a BRICS of 11 member nations. Sharmishtha brings the experience and the networks to strengthen our international partnerships, and she will help carry our mandate forward,” he said.

The appointment is expected to support the Chamber’s efforts to deepen commercial and institutional ties as the bloc enters its next phase of expansion.
